Day 61 & 62

In and around Ferron Utah for the
''Arapeen ATV Jamboree''

September 5th, 2007.

"Can you believe all this rain that's falling? It's one thunderstorm after the other."

We decided to take today "off" and do some laundry and some work on the site...Could'nt have picked a better day to stay inside!

September 6th, 07. The "Behind the Reef ride".

There used to be a lot of uranium mines in the area.

Today, only ruins remains...But, we understand uranium demand is growing again...Wonder why??

Don't you agree the scenery is quite different from across Highway 10, where it's green and forested?? And that's about half an hour away from here...

What do you think of the contrast of colors between the earth and sky?

Yeah ! Thanks for trailering us! To ride some of the rides it's better to trailer down to a trailhead sometimes quite a few miles from Ferron. So, our friend and guide Mark offered to trailer us so we could enjoy them!   Bof... Dust !!  Guess it's part of group rides...Fortunately, groups here are'nt too large (12 approx).

And that's only a small portion of the "Reef".

Different rock formations, each one more interesting than the one before!

You can even ride your quad through part of an old (uranium) mine!! Guess who's gonna glow tonight!!
"Hey Marc, you can't come down that way !!!"

Totally unrelated!     Unrelated, but exciting!

On the way back...Another gone by already...Should someone ask you if the "Behind the Reef" is worth the trailer ride, tell them: YESSS!!

Goodbye to all that were at the Jam!

Many said they would attend the Rocky Mountain Jamboree in Richfield, just like we'll do!
